Checking www.ea.com right now

A fresh check, started when you opened this page - each probe runs its own independent DNS, TCP, TLS and HTTP request. Anonymous runs sample the network; a signed-in account checks from more locations.

About EA outages

Written by the HostTracker monitoring team · updated from live probe data.

EA's own server-status page separates two layers: the EA app and EA Play account and subscription services, and a long list of individual games - Apex Legends, the Battlefield titles, EA Sports FC, Madden NFL, The Sims 4 and others - each with servers run independently per title and even per platform (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Steam). That split matters because a single game's servers going down, common right after a big patch or during a major event, says nothing about the EA app or any other title, and the reverse is also true: an EA app or account outage can block launching or signing into every game at once even though each game's own servers are healthy. The EA app replaced the older Origin client, which is now retired.

Common causes of EA downtime

Not sure whether it's EA or your own connection? Read the full breakdown in our website down checker guide for a general walkthrough of diagnosing any outage, from DNS failures to expired certificates.

A single game's own servers going down, such as Apex Legends or EA Sports FC specifically, without affecting the EA app or any other title

EA app or account sign-in failures that block launching or signing into every EA game at once, since they share the same account layer

Platform-specific outages scoped to one storefront - Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or Steam - while the same game works normally on other platforms

Patch-day server instability right after a major update or content drop for a specific title

Matchmaking or live-service incidents in a specific game that leave the client launching fine but unable to start a match

Questions people ask during an outage

The live probe run on this page tests www.ea.com from a broad sample of HostTracker's 300+-location monitoring network - many independent networks at the same moment, rather than just your own connection. If every location fails to reach it, the outage is real and affects everyone; if only a few locations fail while most load normally, the problem is local to those regions or networks rather than EA being fully down. A single refresh from your own browser can never make that distinction, because it only ever tests from one vantage point on one network.

Yes. HostTracker lets you add any URL - including third-party services you depend on, not just your own website - as a monitored target, and notifies you automatically the moment it becomes unreachable. Before sending an alert, HostTracker re-verifies a failure from multiple locations in its 300+-location network, so you're notified about real, confirmed outages rather than a single location's momentary blip. The free plan checks two monitors every 30 minutes indefinitely at no cost; paid plans check as often as once a minute, with alerts available through SMS, email, voice call, and several messenger apps.

No - as of the most recent check, www.ea.com is responding normally to HostTracker's monitoring network, and has been up for 17h 33m. Over the last 24 hours it recorded 100.00% uptime across 0 incidents. If it is failing for you specifically, the cause is local - your network, DNS cache, or a regional route - and the live probe results above will show which locations, if any, are affected.

Not as a whole. EA's own status page tracks each game's servers separately, including per platform, so one title can be down while others, and the EA app itself, keep working normally. That pattern points at an incident specific to that one game rather than an EA-wide outage.

Likely yes for anything that needs to authenticate through it. The EA app is the shared account and launcher layer beneath EA's games, so a sign-in failure there can block launching any game that requires an online account check, even if each game's own servers are otherwise healthy.

Origin was EA's older PC client and has been retired - the EA app replaced it as EA's current launcher and storefront on PC. If you're looking for account or launcher issues today, that's the EA app, not Origin.

EA's server status is broken down per platform as well as per game, so an incident scoped to one storefront - Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo or Steam - can leave the same game working normally everywhere else. Comparing platforms is a useful way to tell a platform-specific problem from a true game-wide outage.
