Checking login.salesforce.com right now

A fresh check, started when you opened this page - each probe runs its own independent DNS, TCP, TLS and HTTP request. Anonymous runs sample the network; a signed-in account checks from more locations.

About Salesforce outages

Written by the HostTracker monitoring team · updated from live probe data.

Salesforce is not one shared server that every customer connects to - each customer org is assigned to one of many separate instances, which Salesforce calls pods, and login.salesforce.com is the shared entry point that authenticates a user and then routes them into their org's own instance. This is the single most important thing to understand about a Salesforce problem: an incident on the instance hosting your org can make Salesforce look completely down for your whole company, while a different company on a different instance notices nothing wrong at the exact same time. So 'is Salesforce down' is usually really 'is my org's instance down,' and the two questions have different answers most times an incident happens. Checking your own instance's status, rather than assuming one global status, is the accurate way to confirm what's going on.

Common causes of Salesforce downtime

Not sure whether it's Salesforce or your own connection? Read the full breakdown in our website down checker guide for a general walkthrough of diagnosing any outage, from DNS failures to expired certificates.

An incident isolated to the specific instance hosting your org, while other instances and other customers' orgs keep running normally at the same time

Login and authentication issues at the shared entry point that block sign-in before a user is even routed to their org's instance

API-layer incidents that break integrations and automated data syncs, such as a website's lead-capture form, without necessarily affecting the interactive Lightning interface

Performance degradation scoped to a specific Salesforce product, such as Sales Cloud or Service Cloud, rather than the whole platform

A scheduled maintenance window on a specific instance, which looks like downtime but is planned and typically announced in advance for that instance only

Questions people ask during an outage

The live probe run on this page tests login.salesforce.com from a broad sample of HostTracker's 300+-location monitoring network - many independent networks at the same moment, rather than just your own connection. If every location fails to reach it, the outage is real and affects everyone; if only a few locations fail while most load normally, the problem is local to those regions or networks rather than Salesforce being fully down. A single refresh from your own browser can never make that distinction, because it only ever tests from one vantage point on one network.

Yes. HostTracker lets you add any URL - including third-party services you depend on, not just your own website - as a monitored target, and notifies you automatically the moment it becomes unreachable. Before sending an alert, HostTracker re-verifies a failure from multiple locations in its 300+-location network, so you're notified about real, confirmed outages rather than a single location's momentary blip. The free plan checks two monitors every 30 minutes indefinitely at no cost; paid plans check as often as once a minute, with alerts available through SMS, email, voice call, and several messenger apps.

No - as of the most recent check, login.salesforce.com is responding normally to HostTracker's monitoring network, and has been up for 17h 33m. Over the last 24 hours it recorded 100.00% uptime across 0 incidents. If it is failing for you specifically, the cause is local - your network, DNS cache, or a regional route - and the live probe results above will show which locations, if any, are affected.

Salesforce runs customer orgs across many separate instances, sometimes called pods, and each org lives on exactly one of them. If your org's instance has an incident, it can look completely down for you and everyone on your team, while a coworker at a different company on a different instance sees nothing wrong at all - it is not one shared global service going up and down together.

Your org's instance is visible from inside Salesforce Setup after you're signed in, and Salesforce publishes status information broken out by instance rather than a single global indicator. Checking the wrong instance's status will show green even while your own org is genuinely having a problem.

It can be an API-specific incident. Automated integrations and data syncs go through Salesforce's API layer, which is a different path than a person clicking around the Lightning interface in a browser, so it's possible for API calls to fail or queue up while the interactive UI keeps working normally.

No - Salesforce runs planned maintenance on individual instances on a published schedule, and that planned downtime is different from an unplanned incident, even though both can make an org briefly unreachable. Checking whether a maintenance window was scheduled for your instance is the way to tell them apart.
