Freshping alternative

Freshping has been retired. Move your checks to HostTracker in one batch.

Freshworks is winding Freshping down: free accounts were disabled on March 6, 2026, and no subscription renews on or after that date, so every Freshping check needs a new home. HostTracker has run external website monitoring since 2004, and monitoring is the whole business. Paste your Freshping check URLs into the list importer - or ask us to recreate them - and they run as often as every minute from 300+ checkpoints, with a failure confirmed from other locations before anyone is alerted and a status page on every plan.

Key takeaways

  • Freshworks retired Freshping: free accounts were disabled on March 6, 2026, and no subscription renews on or after that date; a paid plan runs until it expires.
  • Freshping's export sends check configurations as an XML file; paste the check URLs, one per line, into HostTracker's list importer to recreate them in one batch.
  • Freshping checked every 1 or 5 minutes from one of 10 regions per check; HostTracker checks as often as every minute from more than 300 locations and confirms a failure elsewhere before alerting.
  • Status pages are included on every HostTracker plan with a custom domain, the role Freshping's free status pages used to fill.
  • HostTracker is $14 per month for the Webmaster plan, with a 30-day trial of 100 monitors and no credit card, and a free plan that does not expire.

Freshping figures read from Freshping's own public pages on 2026-10-30 - intervals, regions and check types from its API documentation HostTracker columns come from our live plan catalog when this page loads, the same numbers as the pricing page.

Bring your Freshping checks over

Freshping's export (Account Settings) sends your check configurations as an XML file, and a still-active paid account can list its checks through the Freshping API. Copy the check URLs out of either - one per line - into the list importer.

  1. Open the list importer. In your dashboard: New monitor, then "add list".
  2. Paste one address per line. Optionally add a comma and a name: https://example.com,Main site.
  3. Create the batch. Each line becomes a monitor with the settings you pick once for the whole list.
Paste your Freshping URLs

Start the 30-day trial first (100 monitors, no credit card) and confirm your email - the importer opens once the address is confirmed.

What you can count on

  • 30-day money-back on your first payment
  • Your price stays while your subscription stays active

Run HostTracker next to Freshping for the whole 30-day trial and compare alerts on your own sites before you cancel anything.

We recreate your checks

Rather not do it yourself? Tell us where you monitor today. Our support team sets up the same checks in your HostTracker account and replies by email - send the Freshping export or a list of addresses when we write back.

Moving many monitors at once?

The REST API creates monitors in bulk, and ht-cli does it in one command: ht-cli monitors bulk-create --json @monitors.json. The 30-day trial fits 100 monitors, so most accounts can run both services side by side for a month.

What happened

What happened to Freshping?

Freshworks decided that supporting Freshping was no longer part of its plans and is discontinuing it gradually, according to the deprecation FAQ on Freshping's support site. The dates that matter: free plan accounts were disabled on March 6, 2026; any subscription due to renew on or after that date is not processed, so a paid plan runs until it expires and is then disabled; plan changes and upgrades are no longer possible.

Data export follows the same split. The free tier could export until June 4, 2026. A paid account can export until 90 days after its subscription ends - an owner or admin starts it from the in-app banner or Account Settings, and a download link arrives within 48 hours and stays valid for 60 days. The export holds XML files with the check, status page and integration configurations and CSV files with historical incidents, uptime data and user details. After an account is disabled, its data stays in Freshworks' database for 90 more days and is then deleted.

If your Freshping plan is still running, export now and keep the CSV uptime history somewhere safe: a new monitoring service starts its own history on the day you turn it on.

Switching

Moving off Freshping, in four steps

  1. Recreate the checks. Paste the check URLs into the list importer, or send us the list through the form above. HTTP and HTTPS checks become HTTP monitors; ping and TCP checks become ping and port monitors (write a port check as host:port).
  2. Rebuild the alert routing before you trust it. Add the email addresses, Slack or Teams channels, phone numbers and webhooks Freshping used to alert, then send a test alert down each channel.
  3. Put the status page back up. Create a HostTracker status page from the same monitors, point your status subdomain at it with a CNAME so the address stays the same, and invite your subscribers to sign up again - there is no subscriber import.
  4. Run it for a month. The 30-day trial fits 100 monitors with every check type, so the whole setup is proven on your own sites before you choose a plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, it is being wound down. Freshworks' deprecation FAQ says free plan accounts were disabled on March 6, 2026, that no subscription set to renew on or after that date is processed, and that plan changes and upgrades are no longer possible. A paid plan that renewed before March 6, 2026 keeps working until it expires and is then disabled.

It depends on your plan. According to the deprecation FAQ, free accounts could export until June 4, 2026, and paid accounts can export for 90 days after their subscription ends. The export is started by an account owner or admin from the in-app banner or Account Settings, arrives as a download link within 48 hours, and contains XML files with your check, status page and integration configurations plus CSV files with incidents, uptime data and users.

Take the check URLs from Freshping's XML export or, on a still-active paid account, from its API, and paste them one per line into the list importer in HostTracker's New monitor panel - optionally with a comma and a name after each address. The batch is created in one step with the interval, locations and alert contacts you choose once. If you would rather not do it yourself, the form on this page asks our support team to recreate the checks for you.

Freshping's API documentation lists HTTP and HTTPS, WebSocket, ping, TCP, UDP and DNS checks, every 1 or 5 minutes, from one of 10 regions per check. HostTracker covers HTTP(S), keyword, ping and TCP port checks, as often as every minute, from 300+ checkpoints, plus transactions, page speed, SSL and domain expiry, DNS blacklists and Google Web Risk. It has no WebSocket or UDP check type, and DNS is checked inside an HTTP monitor by pinning the addresses a host must resolve to rather than as a check of its own.

Yes. A public status page comes with every HostTracker plan, including a custom domain such as status.example.com, components that follow your monitors, incidents and scheduled maintenance, and email subscribers. The number of pages, components and subscribers depends on the plan - the table above shows the live limits.

The table above reads our plans live from the pricing page: monitors, interval, status pages, alert credit and price for each. There is also a free plan that does not expire, and a 30-day trial with 100 monitors and no credit card, which is the easier way to rebuild a Freshping setup and run it for a month before choosing a plan.
